T's Textbooks

T’s Book Shop in Randwick traded for nearly 40 years, and with more than 8,500 textbook customers and over 50 public schools in the database it established a unique winning system. Rapidly outgrowing our premises in Randwick, we set up a separate entity exclusively devoted to textbooks: T’s Textbooks in Alexandria. We commenced trading on 12th September 2011 under our new banner and have quickly grown our database of customers to nearly 18,000.

We’ve been selling second-hand and new school textbooks for over 30 years. We pride ourselves on good old-fashioned customer service.

Reduce the Family’s Textbook Stress

We work intensively to obtain and supply the correct textbooks for each student. Our attention to detail and years of experience means that we’ll closely examine each order to ensure that you’re buying no more or less than needed. For example, if a book is to be retained and has been ordered inadvertently, we’ll always check to ensure the textbook is definitely required.

Families saving money

Our system gives customers the opportunity to save money in two ways: buying the books you need second-hand, and selling your used, unwanted textbooks

We’re 15 minutes from Sydney’s CBD, 5 minutes from the Airport, or a short stroll from Mascot train station.

Our unique system

What we buy

We buy back good condition, current edition high school textbooks. Customers can receive either store credit or a cash payment.

What we sell

We sell both second-hand and new high school textbooks and study guides, plus a limited selection of primary books. We also stock novels, DVDs, and dictionaries as relevant to the schools curriculum, as well as library-quality self-adhesive clear book contact.

We operate on a first-come first-serve basis, so we encourage customers to order as soon as possible, giving us time to secure stock from our suppliers and/or procure second-hand textbooks.

The environment

Buying and selling second-hand textbooks is better for the environment, but our commitment to sustainability doesn’t end there. At T’s we recycle everything we can, reusing whatever packaging our suppliers use delivering new stock. We’re proud that in over 41 years of trading we have never purchased a plastic bag.

The economy

Private education can be expensive and the extras you pay, such as textbooks, uniforms, and excursions are often the reason parents feel unable to keep their children in the private system. We feel that the combined savings offered by our system, compared to paying retail prices, goes a long way towards helping the household budget and keeping kids in private education.

Second-hand textbooks come in varying conditions; we will make further reductions on our standard prices for missing CDs/eCodes, minor damage, highlighting and annotation, a further saving, if desired.

Collection & Shipping

Pick up (no handling charge) is available from our retail warehouse. We ship via Australia Post Express eParcel, $13.50 flat rate per consignment, next business day delivery within Metropolitan Sydney. We will always attempt to minimise postage charges by consolidating orders where possible. Shipping to addresses outside of Sydney and interstate is available.

We accept cash, Credit/Debit Card (MasterCard/Visa), or EFTPOS. Payment is processed once your order is complete, ready for collection, ready to be dispatched, or once you’ve brought in any books you’d like to trade in. You may notice multiple transactions on your card totalling your order, pursuant to item availability.
